txAdmin guide
txAdmin is the web panel built right into FXServer for FiveM and RedM. With it you deploy servers from recipes, manage admins, players and bans, schedule restarts and keep an eye on the live console. This guide takes you from the first login to a well-run server.

Requirements
- An FXServer that starts with txAdmin (the default since 2020, no separate package needed)
- A Cfx.re account and a server license key from the Cfx.re portal
- The txAdmin port – 40120 (TCP) by default, often a different one at hosting providers
Step 1: Open txAdmin and create the master account
On the very first start txAdmin creates the txData folder and prints an address and a PIN in the console. Open the address in your browser – format http://SERVER-IP:TXADMIN-PORT.
At AvantaHost txAdmin automatically gets its own port. You'll find it in the server overview on the dashboard and in the server panel's Network tab as an additional allocation next to the game port. The PIN shows up in the panel's Console tab.
- Enter the PIN and click Link Account.
- Log in with your Cfx.re account and confirm the link.
- Set a password for the txAdmin page. It gets you in even if the Cfx.re login is ever unavailable.
Step 2: Deploy the server from a recipe
After logging in, the setup wizard starts. First you choose a short Server Name (shown in txAdmin and Discord messages), then the Deployment Type:
| Option | Use it for |
|---|---|
| Popular Recipes | Recommended for newcomers. Ready-made templates, e.g. “CFX Default” (lean, no database) or framework recipes such as ESX or QBCore. |
| Existing Server Data | You already have a folder with server.cfg and resources and just want to plug it in. |
| Remote URL Template | Load a recipe from a URL, e.g. from a framework repository. |
| Custom Template | Paste your own recipe as YAML. |
A recipe is a YAML file that downloads resources, creates files and writes server.cfg. The Server Deployer shows it to you before running. You then enter your license key and – for framework recipes – the database details. At AvantaHost, create the database beforehand in the panel's Databases tab.
Run Recipe performs the installation. At the end you review the generated server.cfg and start with Save & Run Server.
Step 3: Add more admins
Never share your master login. Create a separate admin for each team member instead – then the Action Log shows who did what.
- Open Admins in the menu and click Add Admin.
- Enter a username. Optionally add the Cfx.re name and Discord ID – that enables Cfx.re login and lets the in-game menu recognise the admin.
- Set permissions: e.g. only kick/warn for supporters, ban and whitelist for moderators, console and settings for leads only.
- Save. txAdmin shows a temporary password – pass it to the team member securely so they can log in and set their own password.
In-game, admins open the txAdmin menu with /tx (NoClip, teleport, player actions). Which features they see depends on their permissions.
Step 4: Schedule restarts
Regular restarts free memory and reload resources. txAdmin warns players in chat beforehand. Many roleplay servers restart two to four times a day.
- Open Settings → FXServer.
- Under Restart Schedule, add times as
HH:MM(or use a preset such as “2x”). - Save.
You can postpone or skip the next restart once via Schedule in the sidebar. Don't schedule restarts twice: a restart via the hosting panel's schedules restarts the whole container including txAdmin – with no warning to players. For FiveM restarts, txAdmin is the better choice.
Step 5: Do backups properly
A common misconception: txAdmin does not back up your server files or your MySQL database. Master Actions → Backup Database only downloads txAdmin's own player database (playersDB.json with bans, warns and notes). You need to back up the rest separately.
| What | Where it lives | How to back it up |
|---|---|---|
Resources and server.cfg | Server data folder | Hosting backup or SFTP copy |
| Players, inventories, vehicles (ESX/QBCore) | MySQL/MariaDB | SQL dump (e.g. mysqldump or a phpMyAdmin export) |
| Bans, warns, admin notes | txData/…/data/playersDB.json | Master Actions → Backup Database |
| Admin accounts | txData/admins.json | together with the txData folder |
In the AvantaHost panel: the Backups tab → create backup saves the server files. Under Schedules („Zeitpläne“) you can run the “create backup” action automatically, e.g. daily at 05:00. How many backups are kept at once depends on your package – lock important ones so they aren't replaced.
Useful sections at a glance
| Menu item | Use |
|---|---|
| Live Console | Real-time server log, send commands, search history |
| Resources | Start, stop and restart individual resources |
| CFG Editor | Edit server.cfg in the browser |
| Players / History | Player search, warns, bans, notes and playtime |
| Allowlist | Approve whitelist requests (mode under Settings → Whitelist) |
| Settings → Discord | Bot for the status embed and whitelist commands |
| Diagnostics | System info and a diagnostics report for support |
Common problems
| Problem | Fix |
|---|---|
| Page doesn't load | Wrong port: txAdmin doesn't run on the game port (30120) but on its own. At AvantaHost use the additional allocation in the network tab. |
| PIN expired or not visible | Restart the server and take the new PIN from the console. |
| Forgot the master password | Use the Cfx.re login. If neither works, your host's support can help reset it. |
| Server keeps restarting | txAdmin automatically restarts crashed servers. Look for the cause in the Live Console – often a broken resource or Failed to start in time. |
FiveM servers with txAdmin ready to go
At AvantaHost txAdmin runs from the very first start on its own port. You manage file backups and schedules in the server panel as well.
